Celebrating Five (5) Years training Music Artists!

June 27, 2026

I cannot express how proud and inspired our team felt after the conclusion of our DECADES Show: a musical journey through some of the greatest songs of the past 80 years.

On Saturday, June 27, we hosted our year-end finale! This show was a labor of love that resulted from the Immersive Musicianship program we launched for the 2025-2026 semester. Participants of the program met weekly for 3 hours to learn music theory, learn their specialty of choice, and were assigned to an ensemble where they worked together to play as a band.

We know the program was a huge success because it was evident during our show! Our artist performances knocked it out of the park during DECADES! They came ready to perform and entertain the audience!

On stage, from our beginner ensemble to our advanced ensemble, student artists played proficiently, effortlessly and creatively alongside our Coaches. This is a testament of the great training the ensembles gained throughout the semester.

Congrats to our Coaches!

It goes without saying how proud I am of our coaches and our 2GM Team! Not only are they talented but they easily balance professionalism with artistic creativity and enthusiasm. Their love and passion for music was so evident on stage. More importantly, throughout the semester, they love teaching and enjoy bringing out the best in our artists.

Without them, we could not do what we do! It’s an honor to work with them and I can’t help it but to sing their praises.

What’s New @2GM

We are excited to announce the launch of the 2ndGenMusic Legacy Emerging Leader Fellowship, a new leadership opportunity for students who have grown through our music academy and demonstrated maturity, responsibility, and musical commitment.

Through this fellowship, selected students will have the opportunity to serve as volunteer music education apprentices by assisting our coaches, supporting younger students, helping with rehearsals and community events, and continuing to grow as musicians and role models.

Our goal is to create a meaningful pathway for students to remain connected to 2GM while developing leadership skills, gaining hands-on experience, and preparing for future opportunities. As students grow in readiness, they will be considered for future paid assistant roles, community performance opportunities, and additional leadership responsibilities.

We are proud to invest in the next generation of musicians, mentors, and leaders. Sponsors and donors are welcome to support this new initiative by helping provide stipends, appreciation bonuses, training resources, and future paid opportunities for our Emerging Leader Fellows.
